Are you fully compliant with the requirements of the 2003 licensing act?

The Licensing Act 2003 governs the application and granting of licences for premises to sell alcohol. Licensing authorities, in most cases the local authority, have to determine the granting of a licence in line with the "licensing objectives", which are:

  • The prevention of crime and disorder
  • Public safety
  • The prevention of public nuisance
  • The protection of children from harm.

Does you recorder store recorded images for 31 days?

Would you recognise someone on the recorded footage you may need to pass on to the police? Remember this evidence is often used in court and is expected to be installed and maintained to an acceptable quality.

Police Response Requirements

As an approved company we are required to meet the strict criteria laid down by ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers). This is not as daunting as is may seem as both the Police and ourselves are simply filtering out any false alarm signals prior to a "Level One Police Response" being actioned by confirming the alarm activation first.

On completion of the installation, your system will be allocated with a Police Unique Reference Number (URN) which is the information required to dispatch the Police Response Officers to any confirmed alarm activation.

Home Security Safety Tips - Safety first

In today's society, almost anyone can become a victim of crime. Unfortunately, statistics show that people who have been targeted once are more likely to be targeted again.

Safety checklist

  • Install a burglar alarm and make sure it is visible.
  • Always fit good quality locks on doors and windows, a burglar is less likely to break in if they have to smash a window.
  • If you go out even for a short time, make sure you lock up.
  • Always keep keys away from windows and doors.
  • Fit a 'spy hole' and chain to your door so you can see/hear who is calling.
  • If you can get into your house without keys, so can a burglar.
  • Put timer switches on your TV and lights so it looks like you are at home when you're out.
  • Visible burglar alarms, locks/grilles and security lighting are excellent deterrents.
  • Don't forget to cancel any deliveries such as milk and papers when you go on holiday.
  • If you're not going to be around for several days, ask a friend or neighbour to empty your postbox.
